WHY DO WHITE PEOPLE HAVE BLACK SPOTS?
Director: Anya Kandel
Producer: Momentus International
Winner of the INTERNATIONAL DIALOGUE AWARD
ABOUT THE FILM
This film is a small piece of a growing international conversation. Ghana was the first destination for Momentus International, a new organization which aims to promote international dialogue through the arts. From October - December 2007, local artists worked and collaborated with over 150 youth in Ghana to creatively convey how they wanted to be seen, and discuss solutions to better their local and global community.
Acknowledged as our future leaders and keen observers of our society, these youth were encouraged to begin a conversation, simply, by asking questions to their peers across the globe and questioning our global leaders. A few of these questions are what you see in this film.
This and other footage is then shown to other groups of youth, who respond and pose their own questions, as part of an ongoing, creative dialogue. We have since been to the Netherlands are currently working with youth in the United States. Please join us in the discussion at www.momentusinternational.org.
